I'm a little late with posting our Seuss week fun. But better late than never! :)
Keep reading to find out the details of our super fun week that we had celebrating reading and Dr. Seuss' birthday.
Monday: Fox in Socks Day
We wore crazy socks, read Fox in Socks, made a silly fox wearing socks, and did some rhyming words activities.
Tuesday: Green Eggs and Ham Day
We read Green Eggs and Ham, completed a SWBST, made Sam I am, and had green eggs and ham and Sam I am juice for snack.
Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday
We wore wacky, mixed up clothes, we read Wacky Wednesday, we spun wacky words, and ate a wacky snack (banana dogs!)
Thursday: Cat in the Hat Day
We read Cat in the Hat and Cat in the Hat Comes Back, we brainstormed a list of adjectives to describe the cat, we imagined what it would be like if the cat came to our house, and we ate cat hats for a special snack!
Friday: Favorite Book Character Day
We ended our week long celebration of reading with a favorite book character day. Students and teachers dressed as their favorite book character and we read some of the favorite books that students brought in. We also read Horton Hatches the Egg and worked in teams to build nests for Horton. We ended our day with a party... We watched Horton Hears a Who and munched on trail mix and red fish cupcakes! :)
This is always such a super fun and memorable week!! How do you celebrating reading with your students?
