December Catch Up Post

Here is a little catch up post about what we were up to in room 04 this past month.

We had an elf visiting our classroom. The class decided on the name Jingle. Here are a few pics of Jingle in action.

Having a classroom elf didn't go as smoothly this year as it did last year. Some of my after school students touched Mr. Jingle! Sadsville!!! He may not make another appearance next year. :(

Here is our little classroom Christmas tree.

We made these hand print reindeer ornaments as one of our parent gifts. I've made these the past few years and it has become my favorite. Simple, but oh so cute!!

We also made these Cupcake inspired snowman ornaments as one of our parent gifts. They turned out cute.

We made a Santa from my Holly Jolly Fun pack and students wrote "If I were Santa..."

We had our first snow day in December! I love spending snow days with this cutie!!

We had our annual Polar Express day with Kindergarten. Each room hosted a different activity. My room was games again this year. We played pin the nose on the reindeer and did a snowman relay.

Pure cuteness!!

I can't for the life of me to get these next two pics to turn around.... They are showing up right but then on here not. Who knows! Anyways, one of the rooms read the story and had them make magic reindeer food. You can find this printable tag in Erica's tpt shop.

One room made a train craft.

And another room made a reindeer snazzy snack. yum!

Once we were finished with our rotations all the students returned to their homeroom and we watched The Polar Express and enjoyed some sweet treats and hot chocolate.

Before the movie was over one of the sweet office ladies delivered a package straight from the North Pole! It was still cold! { thanks to the freezer ;) }

When we opened it we found a letter from Santa and 18 shiny bells!! They were all kinds of excited!

I forgot to snap a pic of our doors this year. :( But here is my door from one of the other times we did it.

You can read about our past Polar Express days HERE.

Well blog friends that's a wrap on our December fun! I can't believe this year has come and gone. I look forward to sharing more fun things with you in 2014.

Happy Sunday!

Favorite 13 in '13 {Linky Party}

I have been t-totally horrible at blogging lately! I definitely need to make it a new years resolution to be a better at blogging...like much better!! With that said I decided to join Hadar, Kristen, and Traci in their fun {annual} linky party!

Be sure to grab the button and link up at any of their blogs!

Here are 13 of my favorites from 2013....

I don't have anything that is really earth shattering... but here are a few of my go-to items that I love!

Gap Jean Jacket

Toms

Scarfs... especially chevron ones! :)

When thinking about it, I really haven't watched that many movies this year.... we did go see Grown Ups 2 and We're the Millers. Both were hilarious! :)
It's hard to pick a favorite! I love all of the Housewives shows... but Beverly Hills is my favorite!
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

I'm also digging Vanderpump Rules...
Vanderpump Rules

Below Deck was on this past summer and I liked it... I hope it comes back on!

And I can't forget about my guilty pleasure.. soap operas! LAME I know! But I watch The Young and the Restless, General Hospital, and The Bold and the Beautiful. Don't judge! ha

DELICIOUS!!
I know I have tried a ton of things that I've liked... but nothing is flashing out at me at this very moment. So I will share something new I tried in the classroom.

Interactive reading and math journals.
These are so useful to use and refer to when it is report card time! Here are a couple that I have used and love!

A dear friend who I love to death and admire in so many ways invited Eric and I on a trip of a lifetime this summer with her and her husband. We sailed on a private yacht island to island in the Bahamas. It was AMAZING!

Gosh... hard to pick a favorite! I have pinned so many great recipes, teaching ideas, etc.

Well I really can't think of a favorite. So I went to statistics and THIS post is the one that has the most views. :)

I must {and will} do better with blogging!!
I wrote my first ever grant this year. I wanted to purchase some Kindle Fires for my classroom......and I got the grant! Yay!! :)

Pink Sands Beach..LOVE!

I had the opportunity to go to the first grade conference in Murfreesboro December 5th and 6th. I got to meet two of my teaching idols, Deanna Jump and Kim Adsit, and let me tell you I was on cloud nine people! They were both so sweet and their ideas and enthusiasm blew me away!!

Ok, this next one turned out super blurry {can you say sadsville!!??} but I'm going to post it anyway because I was that stinkin' excited about meeting her! haha

And....

Summer 2013 was full of fun memories. We had so much fun spending our weekends on Dale Hollow Lake. I LOVE lake days!

worry less, have fun, and just be the best possible ME that I can be!!! :)

and
I would also like to find the time to add more packs to my little tpt shop. I love working on projects and it is such a great feeling of accomplishment when I finish and post a pack and when I use those same packs with my students in my classroom. Blogging and tpt has been such a blessing! I hope to do better and more in both areas in 2014. If you have ever purchased anything from me THANK YOU so very much from the bottom of my heart!
