Reflections of 2015

I'm linking up with Kristin, Hadar, and Traci for their annual reflections linky!

Here are some of my favorite memories from 2015! :)

{One}
We got a ton of snow in January and February! So much that my Miller Man actually got some snow days too!!!!

{Two}
Eric and I went to Destin for Spring Break.

{Three}
We spent many summer days at the lake on the pontoon boat relaxing, fishing, having picnic lunches, and playing cards. We sure do love lake days!

{Four}
We also managed to squeeze in a little trip to Clearwater this summer.

{Five}
We went on a cruise for fall break to the Cayman Islands and Cozumel.

Eric's brother's had never been on a cruise so they tagged along for this trip. :)

{Six}
I entered Dexter in his very first costume contest... and he WON 1st place!!!! I always knew he was a winner! HA Proud dog mom moment let me tell ya!!!!

{Seven}
My class won 1st place in Twin Lakes phone directory recycling campaign! We collected 176 phone books!

I also had two Donors Choose Projects funded this year!!

We got this amazing rug that I have been wanting for years now!
The kids love it and we are getting so much use out it!
We also got a subscription to Scholastic News!
 We LOVE Donors Choose!!!

{Eight}
Dexter turned 6!!! He is growing up so fast! His birthday fell around the same time that we had planned a little trip that he could tag along on....to the beach! So we celebrated with a beach party! :) I know, I know... we're crazy dog parents!

Dexter's first beach trip in Panama City! He loved it!!

{Nine}
We had our yearly family pics made near our house at the lake. Dexter wasn't too cooperative this year. We did manage to get a couple that he was actually looking. Little stinker! Boy I sure do love these two!!

{Ten}
And... Well, I turned 30...
Umm I mean 29 again! HA!
My mom found 29 again candles! We had our annual birthday party with cake, pizza, punch, and presents! I'm an only child so my Birthday was always a big deal growing up...and even as an adult my mom still makes a big deal out of my special day and makes me feel extra special! :)

We went out to eat with our favorite couple to celebrate on my actual birthday! #30 deserves to Birthday celebrations! :)

I can't wait to see what 2016 holds and I look forward to making so many more memories with Eric and Dexter, my friends and family, and my sweet little firsties! :)
Be sure to link up with Kristin, Hadar, and Traci with your 2015 reflections!

Wishing you a very Happy New Year full of blessings, love, laughter and joy!!

Polar Express Day! {2015}

Last Thursday we had our annual K-1 Polar Express Day. This day is always jammed pack full of fun and magic! The kids always have a blast and it's sure to be a day we all remember! :)

Here are some highlights from our day...

We each decorate our door for the special day. Here is one of the Kindergarten teacher's door. I must have got side tracked because I failed to snap my door.. or the other 2 teacher's doors. But they are all the same....just a different color.

When my students came in that morning they found their ticket for the Polar Express.

Each room is a different stop on the Polar Express. Each class has a ticket and "boards" the train. The train goes stop to stop and students complete a different activity at each of the stops.

In the past I have always done games in my room. But this year I decided to switch things up and do the snack instead of games when the kids stopped at my room. We made a tasty Christmas tree at Santa's Little Sweet Shop. ;)

At another stop, students made a Polar Express bracelet while the teacher read them the story. :)

At another stop, students made magic reindeer food.

And at another stop, students made snowball launchers and had a little competition to see who could launch their snowball the farthest.

Once each class had visited all of the stops on the Polar Express, they ended their day back in their homeroom to enjoy some tasty sweet treats and hot cocoa while they watched the movie.

At the end of the day the office let us know that someone with a white beard and a red suit dropped off a package for us in the office. When I returned to the classroom with the package we felt that it was freezing cold! Want to know why??? Santa delivered it straight from the North Pole! :)

When we opened up the package we found 16 bells inside! :) We BELIEVE!!!!

In other Christmas news, we were busy this month making special ornaments to give to our families for Christmas.

I also found a cute foam ornament kit at Hobby Lobby. The ornament was made to resemble a traditional Christmas ornament and came with cute little accents like sequins and rhinestones and glitter. I snapped each student's pic and then added their pic to the ornament. Sorry no pic of these.

I hope the parents will love the ornaments we made as much as we did! :)

Grinch Day!

Last Wednesday was Grinch Day! Here is a few highlights from our super fun day!

We began our day on a little candy cane hunt! When we came in the room that morning, we spotted the Grinch and our Elf, Jingles. Jingles had left us a note letting us know that the Grinch had licked the candy canes he got for us and HID them all over the room. My firsties couldn't wait to find them!

We made Amy's super cute Grinch inspired hats! My kids looked sooo cute wearing these!

We did a fun little Grinch relay race!

We also used Cheryl's Persuading Grinch Freebie. {Sorry, I failed to snap pics.} If you haven't checked out Cheryl's freebie you're missing out! It's perfect for your Grinch day!

I also found a super cute Grinch shirt at Wal-Mart to wear for Grinch day.

I had lots of other things planned... but we had Christmas program practice and then performed the program for our school, so I didn't quite get to everything I had planned. There's always next year! ;)

Do you do a Grinch day? If so what do you and your kiddos do??
