Spring Break & St. Patrick's Day

I have been MIA from blogging lately... we went on vacation to Riviera Maya, Mexico for spring break. And when we got back I seemed to have a bazillion things to do and was running around all week like a chicken with no head, so finding the time to blog about my trip or anything school related just didn't happen. Anyways, we had the absolute BEST time on our vacation. I seriously didn't want to come home... I wanted to quit, stay in paradise... and just live on love!!! But we decided we better come back home for Dexter Dog! haha We relaxed by the pool, rode 4-wheelers in the jungle and went to a cenote, shopped at Playa Del Carmen, took a tour to see some Mayan ruins, and ate, ate, ate, ate, and ate some more! And the craziest thing happened... We ran into a little couple we had met two years ago on vacation in Puerto Vallarta! Small, teeny, tiny world, huh?

I took over 300 pictures... Yikes! I'm a picture snapping fool people!! Since I don't want blogger or your computer to overheat (HA).. I won't upload them all.. but I will just share a few. :)

Now do you see now why I didn't want to come home and just wanted to stay and live on love!?? It was the perfect vacation with a perfect guy! :) I'm thankful we got to go.

Here are a few St. Patrick's Day activities we did this week from my St. Patrick's Day Mini Unit. Since we weren't in school the week before St. Patrick's Day we just did a few little things this past week.

Happy Sunday night! Where did the weekend go?

Dr. Seuss Fun... a week later

Hey sweet blog friends! Do you ever have all this stuff planned and then things don't go as planned?? Well,  I had a very long list of things I wanted to do with my kiddos for Dr. Seuss' birthday week.. and after early dismissal one day for bad weather and closing a few days for sickness (oh so very thankful for those days though and I'm not gonna complain!!!!)  I found that my long list just didn't get completed. If I hadn't of planned anything we would have been in school! That's how it goes! ha  But sometimes you just have to go with the flow and get what you can done. We did manage to get a few things done before and after the craziness. But no where near what I planned... Anyhow, here is a little peek at some of the things we did...

A sweet mom volunteered to come in and read Green Eggs and Ham to the class and then make them a treat.. they had green eggs, ham, and green Hawaiian Punch!

We made a graph and took a class vote asking the question "Do you like green eggs and ham?"

We made Cara's Seuss Juice and a Cat in the Hat inspired snack. The kids loved the Seuss Juice! Thanks for sharing Cara!!

We read The Foot Book and discussed antonyms. We made these.. Another Cara inspired project.

We read Yertle the Turtle, discussed being greedy, and then made Yertle the Turtles.

The sweet 2nd grade team at my school made my Thing 1 and Thing 2's from my Cat with a Hat unit. I thought they turned out darling, so I wanted to share one of  the bulletin boards. :)

This was all I managed to snap pics of. I would love to share the Wacky Wednesday pictures of my kiddos. Unfortantely, in our district we are not allowed to show pictures of students. But.. I will tell you one of my little cuties came in with his undies over his pants. PRECIOUS!!!! :)

Well, there are my Seuss things.. a week later... better late than never, right? :)
