You're Just "Write" For Me! {Valentine Freebie}

Happy Saturday! Valentine's Day is one of my very favorite holidays! While I was out grocery shopping today, my cart definitely did a little detour down the Valentine isle when it seen all the pink and red and hearts. I picked up some goodies for Valentine's Day today and I wanted to pop in real quick to share with you what I plan to give to my firsties this year for Valentine's Day. :)

I found these game tablets and mini pens today at Wal-Mart in the Valentine section. The game tablets came in 6 packs for 98 cents and the mini pens came in 12 packs for $1.98. The game tablets have coloring pages, tic tac toe, word searches, connect the dots, mazes, and more!
I attached the pen with a little tape and added a label that I made that says "You're just write for me Valentine!"

And here is my finished product! Super simple, but super cute! I hope they love them as much as I do!

If you like this idea and a need some labels you can click HERE and HERE for some freebies! :)

Have a great weekend!

Hip! Hip! Hooray! It's the 100th Day!!

We are officially 100 days smarter in room 4! We had our 100th day celebration last Tuesday. And we have been out for snow ever since!
I wanted to pop in today and share with you all about our 100th day celebration!
I made 100th day cupcakes the night... it's become a tradition! :) That morning before my sweeties arrived, I hung balloons all around the room. Each balloon was filled with a 100 day activity. Throughout the day we would pick a balloon to pop and do the activity inside.... 100 jumping jacks, 100 second dance session, count to 100 by 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's, I wish I had 100, I would not want 100, 100 high fives, etc. This is always a big hit and also another 100th day tradition!

100th Day Shirts
A couple weeks ago I sent home a note explaining that our 100th day celebration was set and asked students to make a 100th day themed t-shirt if they would like. Here are what some of my cuties came up with! They did a great job!

100th Day Mystery Bags
I sent home brown paper sacks along with a note explaining the 100th day mystery bag project and a paper for them to write down their clues. For this project, students filled their sack with 100 items and then wrote down 3 clues about their mystery item. Each student got up and shared their clues and we tried to guess what their 100th day mystery item was. This is a great project because it gives students a chance to hit some of the speaking/listening common core standards. Some items included macaroni, stickers, marshmallows, chocolate chips, marbles, and candy hearts

100 Day Stations
I set up my 100th day stations again this year. I have 8 stations and I put my kids in groups of 2 and they rotated station to station until they have done all 8. They each had a 100th day sticker chart and would add a sticker to their chart when they visited each station.

100th Day Trail Mix Station... Students counted out 10 of each snack (10 different snacks) for a total of 100 items for their trail mix. They did wrote about their tasty snack.
Race to 100 Station... Students took turns rolling a die and would color in spaces for the amount they rolled. The first student to make it to 100 was the winner! :)
100 Legos Creation Station... Students built a creation with 100 Legos and then drew a picture/wrote about their creation.
100th Day Kid Crafitivty... Students made this cute little craft at this station.
100th Day Questionnaire...Here students wrote about their favorite lunch, their best friends, 3 things they have learned so far this year, and their favorite memory. Talk about melting my heart... one little sweetie wrote that I was her best friend! LOVE!
100th Day Tower... Here students built a tower with 100 plastic cups... I think this was their favorite station! :)
100 Piece Puzzle Station... Students put together a 100 piece puzzle.
100th Day Tangram Creation... students used Tangrams to build a creation and then they drew/wrote about their creation.

If you like something you see here and are needing some activities for your 100th day check out my 100th day activity pack. It has everything you need to make your 100th day celebration a super success!!

This is always such a memorable day and the kids love every second of it!
When is your 100th day? How do you celebrate?

Five for Friday! {January 22, 2016}

Hey, hey! I'm linking up with Kacey from Doodle Bugs for Five for Friday!

Here are my five random things from this week!

Monday we were off for MLK Day. I spent the day getting prepped for our 100th day celebration for Tuesday. I made these yummy cupcakes, made my 100th day shirt {inspired by the fabulous Cara}, and blew up a bunch of balloons to hang from the ceiling. I put different activities in each balloon and throughout the day we pop them. Some examples: do 100 jumping jacks, walk in place for 100 seconds, 100 second dance session, count to 100 by 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's, etc.

Tuesday was our 100th day celebration and it was jam packed full of fun! We were all about the number 100 all day and by the end of the day boy was I pooped! SO much fun! I was going to post more about our celebration in this post... and then I decided it needed a whole post on its own. Stay tuned this weekend for a 100th day post! :)

Wednesday we got our first snow day of the school year! I spent my day with this cutie baby! We played in the snow and had lots of cuddles. Perfect day! All we were missing was Eric.

That snow lingered and I got another snow day on Thursday! And there was more cuddles! I promise I'm not lazy! But when this little fella lays down I just can't bring myself to get up and move him. ;)
Which brings us to today... Another snow day! This morning it started snowing and it snowed all day... ALL day! I measured it around 5:30 pm and it was at almost 8 inches! Say what!? And it's still snowing!

So all this couch and cuddle time with my fur baby has actually given me a chance to be productive! I gave two of my old tpt products a total makeover with new clip art, borders, fonts, and activities!

This unit is perfect for the winter months.. It has 5 literacy and 5 math centers with recording sheets and direction sheets, lots of printables for arctic animals, crafts, writing, and so much more!

We made these cutie penguins recently and you can find the pattern in my winter wonderland pack.

And I also got a brand new little product added to my shop! :)

Here are a couple other new products that I also added recently.

One more thing before I go....Have ya'll seen any of the carpool karaokee videos with James Corden?? I'm really behind because some of them are really old and I'm just now watching them for the first time. But James Corden is stinking hilarious!!! And I'm like obsessed with those videos now. I *might* have watched them all yesterday on my snow day....and the Beiber and Adele ones twice! HA! Please don't judge me! lol
Seriously though if you haven't seen these and need a good laugh check them out or if you are like me and on a snow day and need something totally silly to do CLICK HERE! :)

Well friends that's all I got for tonight! Be sure to link up with Kacey with your Five for Friday!
Have a great weekend!!

Five for Friday! {on a Sunday}

So I totally started my Five for Friday post on FRIDAY... and got side tracked and forgot to go back and finish it up. So here I am on Sunday... finally linking up with Kacey for Five for Friday!

This week it was all about penguins in room 4!

We made these cutie patootie penguins. You can find these in my It's a Winter Wonderland of Fun unit.

We read lots of nonfiction books about penguins. Those books helped us fill out this little can/have/are chart. We also made a KWL chart. {I forgot to snap a pick of it.}

Our Guiding Readers story this week was Tacky the Penguin!

We made this cute little Tacky the Penguin craft from Deedee and Deanna's Guiding Readers: January No Prep K-1 unit . We have been learning about adjectives, so I thought it would be great to use some adjectives to describe Tacky the Penguin!

And we made a tasty penguin snack on Friday to end our week of penguins.

We have also been learning about captions. Students looked through National Geographic books to try to spot captions. They then wrote the caption and drew a picture of what they found.

We also have been working with contractions. We watched a Brainpop Jr. video and did a super fun little contraction surgery activity.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that I wasn't the only one who wasn't planning on going to work on Thursday because I was supposed to wake a BILLIONAIRE! HA!! Dang it!!
There's always next time! ;)

Tuesday will be our 100th day so I've been prepping and getting things ready for that big celebration! It's always such a super fun day! You can read all about our 100th day celebration from last year HERE.

Our activities will be coming from this little pack

Well that's my Five for Friday! Have a great week!!
