The Pencil Grip, Inc. {Giveaway!}

One struggle I have as a teacher is getting students to properly hold their pencils and form their letters correctly when writing. Recently I was asked to do a review for The Pencil Grip, Inc. and I was very excited about the opportunity to try something new in hopes of helping my students with this problem. The Pencil Grip, Inc. offers a variety of different grip options that can be purchased individually, as well as 3 step grip development training kit. There is a grip for everyone! :)

I was given three different pencil grips to try out-- The Crossover Original, The Pinch Grip, and The Pencil Grip Original. These are the same three grips found in the 3 step training kit.

The Crossover Original

This grip has the same great design as The Pencil Grip Original but it has added wings (finger guards) that hold fingers in the correct position and prevents fingers from crossing over each other. The "superhero cape" design is motivating for children and improves compliance of use. 

The Pinch Grip

The Pinch Grip balances structure with freedom and enhances comfort and control for the writer. The Pinch Grip is a transitional grip and it bridges the gap between more structured grips and grips that provide more freedom. This intermediate step in the learning process can better aid the development of proper writing technique while improving handwriting, giving more control, and reducing hand fatigue. Its unique, patented design gently encourages the fingers and hand to rest in the proper position for gripping. Unlike other pencil grips, The Pinch Grip feels natural because of its ergonomic design and soft, flexible, latex-free material.

The Pencil Grip Original

The Pencil Grip increases comfort, teaches proper hand positioning, and improves control. Its ergonomic design also provides relief of hand fatigue and pain. Righties and Lefties simply place their thumb on the "R" or "L" on the grip and their fingers naturally fall into place. The Pencil Grip prevents bad habits from forming during pre-writing and writing instruction. The Pencil Grip is excellent for training children to use developmentally appropriate tripod grasp. 

I had a few helpers try these out and thy all picked this one as their favorite. 

These grips also come in a variety of color options including glitter! Who doesn't love glitter?? :)
